The home of Maikeva is located on 10 acres in the beautiful bluff country of NE Iowa, very close to the Minnesota and Wisconsin borders.   I share my home with my wonderful daughter Eva, my two grown sons Mathew and Mikel when they come home to visit, and of course the canine family.   I have been training and showing dogs since 1994 and grooming dogs since 2000 at my business in Decorah, the Good Dog Center (www.gooddogcenter.com).    I purchased my first Rottweiler in 1996, a wonderful and sweet girl named Dreamer.   I trained and competed with Dreamer until I lost her to cancer at the young age of 3 1/2.  This was a devastating loss and it was many years before I was ready to welcome another Rottweiler into my life.    My next Rottweiler came in 2008 when Noel joined the family from Phantom Wood Rottweilers in Wisconsin.   Through Noel I realized that this intelligent and versatile breed is not one I want to live without, and began to carefully make plans for the start of Maikeva.    Health, longevity, temperament, sound structure, working ability, and conformation (breed type) are the factors that guide me in making breeding decisions.  My goal is to produce a beautiful and stable tempered working dog, who can live as part of the family, and also possesses the level of drive to do whatever type of work is asked of them.   All of these qualities make breeding decisions very difficult and I don't take those decisions lightly.  I am a code of ethics breeder and a member of the American Rottweiler Club,  Northstar Rottweiler Club,  American Working Collie Association, and Upper Iowa Training Club.  Although dog training and showing is a profession and a passion for me, my dogs are my companions first, they live in my home and are raised with my children.  Let me know if you have any questions or comments and Thank You for stopping by - I look forward to hearing from you!
